Cosa vedere a Firenze: il fascino eterno del Duomo e del Battistero

Arrivati in Piazza Duomo vi trovate circondati dai monumenti sacri più importanti
della città.
L’edificio ottagonale davanti alla Cattedrale è il Battistero di San Giovanni, uno dei più
antichi templi di Firenze. Non conosciamo esattamente la data della sua edificazione,
ma supponiamo che il Battistero venne costruito tra l’VIII e il IX secolo. Successivamente
venne rialzato e venne aggiunta una cupola. A partire dagli anni ’30 del Duecento l’interno
della cupola venne decorato con degli splendidi mosaici con le scene del Giudizio
Universale e racconti dell’Antico e del Nuovo Testamento. Davanti al Battistero potete
ammirare l’imponente Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. Ecco, un modo migliore per
scoprire la Cattedrale è quello di salire in cima alla Cupola del Brunelleschi!
Attenzione: i biglietti per i monumenti del complesso del Duomo sono validi 3 giorni
dalla prima visita. Con il biglietto per la cupola potete anche salire in cima al
campanile, visitare il museo dell’opera, il battistero e gli scavi archeologici sotto la
cattedrale.

With the ticket for the Duomo you can also climb to the top of the bell tower, visit the opera museum, the baptistery and the archaeological excavations under the cathedral
